Meet Rachel, a performance chef who makes food a pleasure to eat whilst being ‘built’ using ingredients that contain specific nutritional elements as guided by our team of UCU experts.
Her journey and passion for food started in childhood. Rachel always had a deep connection with food during the changing seasons and remembers fondly when each year she peeled and cooked with the apples from the trees in her grandmother’s garden at harvest time and made strawberry jam using the bountiful harvest from her mother’s strawberry plants.
The only thing she remembers that came from a packet was Angel Delight, butterscotch flavour obviously, which she loved.
Let's jump ahead to the early 1990s. While considering her career options Rachel discovered that cooking could be an enjoyable and fitting choice for her talents, and it appears that her initial assumption was correct.
In the 2020s Rachel now specialises in catering to the dietary needs of elite athletes and individuals needing advice, and results, from performance nutrition. She designs meals that are crafted to not only be delicious food that individuals enjoy eating but also meals that support all their daily nutritional needs.
Rachel says “It’s such a great joy to not only provide delicious food that meets all the reasons that we need to eat, but also be a contributory factor in helping athletes and individuals perform to their very best in any situation. Our food is fun and fuel, the very best fuel an individual needs at any particular moment.”
